hommus thermomix

Hummus is something that I recently started enjoying and very quickly discovered that you can either have a good hummus or an exceptionally bad one. While this Thermomix recipe has the extra steps of soaking and then removing the skins from the chick peas, the difference is amazing and well worth the extra 10 minutes of effort! You can double (or even triple!) the preparation of the chick peas to make it a little quicker for next time — and believe me, after you have had this hummus, there will be a next time! It really is the best Hummus.

  1. 5 stars
Wow delicious!! Certainly tedious doing the skins but a good job while sitting watching tv or listening to music. Question – can you freeze it? Thanks!

  2. This hummus is incredible, I always double up on the chickpea prep so I can make a quick batch next time. Taking the skins off takes me forever, but it’s really worth it.

  3. Just made this and the taste is delicious but I found it to be a little pasty is texture? Not sure if that could be changed from using different olive oil or what? But it does taste nice 🙂

  4. Got part way through taking the skins off the chickpeas and thought “stuff this, I’m not doing this again”.
Finished making and eating after chilling in fridge and I’m wrong, I will be doing this again. Far superior texture and fantastic flavour. Another winner from Nik

  5. I have attempted to make my own hummus several times without success. This recipe is seriously the yummiest tasting hummus I have eaten at home or dining out. Totally worth the extra prep.

  6. I’ve never mastered hummus in the thermomix. It’s always either lumpy or gritty. However, this recipe is perfect. Easy to follow and well worth taking the time to skin the chickpeas. My daughter, who apparently at the age of 5 is a hummus expert, said ‘Mum, you didn’t make this! It’s too perfect!’ . Thank you for a great recipe Nik!
