Equipment

  • Oven or airfryer
  • baking paper
  • large bowl
  • tea towel

Ingredients

  • 500 g potatoes russett
  • 1 tsp Everything Salt or Chicken Salt
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Preparing French Fries

  • Use a French Fry cutter to slice the potatoes or cut manually into thin sticks.
  • Put into a large bowl and cover them with cold water, ensuring they are completely submerged. Soak for 1 hr or overnight.
  • Drain the fries and lay them flat on a tea towel and pat dry. It is important to really dry them so they don’t steam.
  • Add fries to a bowl and coat well with oil.

To cook

    Air Fryer

    • Preheat air fryer to 190°C or 375°F. For crispy fries, cook in 2 batches in a single layer.
    • Cook fries for 10 min, shake well and cook for a further 5 min. Shake and cook in 1 min increments until cooked to your liking. Season and serve.

    Oven

    • Preheat fan-forced oven to 200°C or 390°F. Line a metal baking tray with baking paper.
    • Spread fries in a single layer and cook for 10 min.
    • Flip fries and cook for a further 10–20 min until cooked to your liking. Season and serve.

    Serve with the Ultimate Cheeseburger
