Sharing is caring!

There’s something extra comforting about a warm bowl of oats to start your day, and this Spiced Oats and Cherry Compote recipe is like a big hug in a bowl! With fragrant vanilla and cinnamon-infused oats, topped with a rich and tangy cherry compote, this breakfast feels indulgent but is super nourishing.

This recipe was designed with ease and versatility in mind—whether you’re after a wholesome weekday breakfast or a relaxing weekend brunch, it ticks all the boxes. And of course, it’s made entirely in your thermo cooker without even needing to wash the bowl between steps. Win!

The Cherry on Top 🍒

The hero of this dish is definitely the Morello Cherry Compote. Slightly tart with just the right amount of sweetness from maple syrup and a touch of lemon juice, it balances beautifully with the creamy spiced oats. We use the syrup from the cherries as well, which means extra flavour with minimal effort.

Spiced Vanilla Oats

The oats themselves are simmered with warm cinnamon and fragrant vanilla bean paste for that little extra magic. If you’re dairy-free, feel free to use any milk alternative you love—it works perfectly with almond, oat, soy or coconut milk too.

Gluten-Free Friendly

Following a gluten-free lifestyle? You can easily substitute the rolled oats with quinoa flakes—just keep in mind the texture will be a little different but still delicious.

📝 Skinnymixers Recipe Tips:

  • Batch it! The compote can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to a week. Add it to yoghurt, pancakes, or even desserts!

  • Mix it up: Try adding chopped nuts, chia seeds, or a dollop of yoghurt when serving for extra nutrition and texture.

  • Kid-friendly: Adjust the maple syrup to taste.

Whether you’re meal prepping or just treating yourself, this Spiced Oats and Cherry Compote recipe is a wholesome, comforting bowl of deliciousness you’ll want to come back to again and again.

We’d love to see your creations—don’t forget to share your bowl with the Skinnymixers community 💕
