Skinnymixer’s Bang Bang Chicken features in the Fast section of the cookbook The Healthy Mix Dinners 3

The Bang Bang Chicken is a cookbook exclusive recipe…

If you haven’t heard of Bang Bang Chicken before, it’s an American Chinese dish that became popular on social media. I’m not a huge fan of viral food trends, but when Grant made this I was immediately sold. The sauce is lusciously creamy, tangy and sweet. Paired with the Japanese Slaw this may possibly be my favourite combination in the Dinners 3 cookbook

We prepare the sauce in the Thermomix and cook the chicken in the air fryer for the ultimate, easy dinner!

What you will need:

  • chicken breast
  • fresh lime juice
  • garlic powder
  • garlic
  • ground white pepper
  • honey
  • whole egg mayonnaise – Use a good-quality lighter tasting mayonnaise. I like the Thomy or S&W Whole Egg Mayonnaise. Or you can make your own using a light-tasting oil with this Creamy Mayonnaise recipe.
  • olive oil (or a light spray of oil)
  • onion powder
  • rice wine vinegar – see the variations in the recipe for dietary options
  • salt
  • sesame oil
  • soy sauce, tamari or coconut aminos
  • Sriracha – commercially available or you can make your own using with this Sriracha recipe.
  • sweet paprika
