Simple Slaw

Sharing is caring!

Skinnymixer’s Simple Slaw features in the Sides section of the cookbook SkinnyAmerica. We couldn’t have a SkinnyAmerica book without a good coleslaw!

The Simple Slaw is a cookbook exclusive recipe…

The Simple Slaw is a vinegar-based slaw and isn’t creamy.

The tangy, not too sweet, crunch helps create the perfect bite when serving with the Brisket Burnt Ends, Pastrami, Hot Honey Not Fried Chicken and Huli Huli Pork Chops.

What you will need to make the Simple Slaw in SkinnyAmerica
  • White vinegar – if you can’t have white vinegar, we recommend halving the amount for apple cider vinegar and you can add extra to taste as required.
  • Light tasting olive oil – you don’t want your oil too strong in flavour as it might overtake this simple dish.
  • Sugar of choice – I prefer to use a light coloured sugar for this recipe to keep the colour clean.
  • Dijon mustard
  • Green cabbage – or as some may call it ‘white cabbage’, this is just your standard cabbage at the supermarket.
  • Celery seed – this is optional. You can buy celery seed at some fruit shops or delicatessens that have extended spice ranges.

This page exists to help people find what cookbook the Simple Slaw is in and also to provide a basic shopping list for when you are out and about and have forgotten your eBook or shopping list. (Handy I know!)
