Savoury Loaf Maple Bacon Spread

There are many gluten free bread alternatives out there, but this Savoury Loaf Thermomix recipe with Maple Bacon Spread is mine. This recipe is exclusive to the cookbook The Healthy Mix IV – available from the Skinnymixers Shop.I was SO excited when I popped a piece of this in the toaster, and it came out in one piece—perfectly toasted! Cooking the maple bacon spread while the loaf bakes in the oven is a time efficient, impressive brunch meal.

Since developing this Savoury Loaf Thermomix recipe I have found it to be a staple in my freezer, it is so convenient to always have something filling and nutritious ready to toast.

It isn’t essential to make the Maple Bacon Spread, it is just something different to try that I found really enhances the flavours in this Savoury Loaf. 

The recipe development team absolutely LOVED this recipe and tested so many different variations. 

Some of the flavour variations include:

  • 50 g Kalamata olives, fetta and rosemary
  • zucchini, crispy bacon, fresh herbs

We tested all different variations for the Savoury Loaf such as Gluten Free flour, plain flour, Dairy Free, Paleo, Low Fodmap and Halved.

The Maple Bacon Spread can’t be halved, but we do include instructions for Low Carb/Paleo and Low Fodmap.

Notes

Egg Free: This recipe was tested with a couple of different egg replacers. First was Neat Egg used as the eggs. This produced the best result. The second was a flax replacer - mill flaxseeds  and mix with 2.5 Tbsp water.
