Scrolling Facebook one day I saw a super cute post from Ella excited about her Choc Banana Smoothie Thermomix recipe.

I reached out to Lailah Rose (Ella’s Mum) and asked if she would be interested in having it featured as a guest recipe…. luckily for us Ella said YES! You may have made Lailah’s amazing Naan Bread before – you can find her guest recipe here.

Not only is Ella’s Choc Banana Smoothie thick, creamy and delicious, it has some extra soluble and insoluble fibre from the LSA (flaxseed, sunflower seeds and almonds).

Her mum Lailah Rose (Thermomumma) sent the recipe in with a little bit about Ella’s cooking adventures.

From Ella’s Mum…

My daughter Ella is 12 & has always loved helping in the kitchen.

The kids have been on a smoothie kick lately & after trying a chocolate hazelnut smoothie bowl, Ella wanted to create her own drinkable version with similar flavours.

There were a few not-so-great attempts along the way 😂 some were too thick & wouldn’t blend, one had way too much cacao, & others just didn’t taste quite right… but she kept tweaking it until she got it right.

She wanted something chocolatey, naturally sweetened & filling enough to keep everyone going for the morning.

It’s now become one of her go-to breakfasts to make before school for our family.

It’s very easy to scale the recipe down to make 1, 2, or 3 serves, if you don’t need a big 4 person batch. In saying that, it also makes for a very delicious ice block if you freeze it! My kids do this as they love eating it frozen for dessert.

Thanks again for giving her this opportunity, she’s feeling very proud 🖤
