Thermomix Chilli Con Carne

Chilli Con Carne from the Thermomix Cookbook ‘A Little Taste of Mexico’ would have to be one of the most popular recipes in the Skinnymixers community.

Although I got sick twice and suffered for a very long time after visiting Mexico, it was truly one of the highlights of my life.

I believe the recipes in A Little Taste of Mexico are a whole other level to my other ones, as I was taught about cooking authentic Mexican food in Oaxaca and Mexico City 😍😍

A Little Taste of Mexico

Thermomix Chilli Con Carne

ALToM: Chilli Con Carne

Chilli Con Carne is not a traditional Mexican recipe, but rather a very popular American influenced Tex-Mex dish which features tender, fall-apart beef and complex flavours. Great served on its own, with rice, vegetables, nachos or inside fresh tortillas.

Chilli Con Carne Thermomix Recipe

  1. My family’s favourite recipe from ALTOM. Simple recipe, full of flavour, easy to adapt to LCHF for me and served in tacos, wraps or as nachos for the kids. Budget friendly and versatile being able to use beef or mince. It’s on our meal plan rotation. 10/10

  2. Yummm! I was worried at first that the beef wouldn’t be tender but my gosh, it was and it was delicious! The whole fam loved it!

  3. I made this tonight for the first time and will definitely make again, this is a great, simple, easy recipe. The beef was tender and full of flavour.

  4. This dish is so amazing! I put a little extra tomato paste & the flavour was so rich & smooth. Would definitely recommend buying the book just for this one recipe.

  5. Omg the book is a must get. I don’t do kidney beans and could have eaten way more
So good is the chile Con Carne and Red rice

  6. Wow. So. Much. Flavour. We only added half the chilli powder as the toddler was supposed to eat it. That was fine as we use jalapeños.
Used it on simple tacos… Soft tortillas, sour cream, cheese, avo and tomato. I didn’t have beef stock so used chicken. No chipotle powder so used smoked paprika.

  7. This was such a simple and delicious meal to make… Unfortunately my hubby and I managed to eat the entire full serving between us… Nom nom 😊

  8. OMG!!!! This was the absolute BOMB!!!! I made this with the mexican red rice, guacamole and sour cream yum yum yum 🙂 Thanks Nik

  9. Wow!! Delicious is an understatement, this is packed full of flavour, i had to keep going back for more, served with guacamole on top.. mm mm mmmmm

  10. I grew up eating my mum’s version of this, this version is SO much better. Delicious, full of flavour and super easy. The compexity of flavours was amazing, this will be a regular meal from now on. Loved it!

  11. I grew up eating mum’s version of this, would have to say I’ve never tasted Chilli Con Carne this good! Absolutely delicious and so much flavour packed into a very easy to follow recipe. This will be a regular go to meal. Loved it! Thanks again Nik.

  12. I made this tonight and it was delicious! Even my chilli con carne hating partner loved it! I added more water after 40 mins, cooked for the entire duration and served on a mix of brown rice and chia seeds. So easy and delicious, thanks Nik!

  13. WOW! used beef shin as we dont’ get “gravy beef” here in the UK – only used 500g of meat, upped the fluid volume after 45mins by just adding water – will be awesome with beef cheek as well – 7 generous portions!

  14. Delicious! I went back for seconds and all the family finished their meal including a fussy three year old and a one year old with allergies. Served it with the red rice and there are lots of leftovers. This meal will be going into our regular meal plan.

  15. Love love love this dish! Left out the chilli, still amazing.
Served with red rice and chilli con queso – heaven!

  16. Made this last night…easy to do…it is spicy but I like it. Should cut my meat slightly bigger as some of it mushed up…makes plenty thanks

  17. Delicious meal that is flavour packed. I found it low maintenance to prepare as well which is handy with a toddler. The meat was extremely tender, I used gravy beef and cooked for the full 60 minutes. Will be a regular at our house.

  18. Love the smokiness of this recipe. It’s super delicious served over cauliflower rice and with a dollop of sour cream. Will be a keeper for my meal planner

  19. can this be cooked in the slow cooker? Would it need less liquid? Not 100% sure that gravy beef would be tender after just 60 mins

    1. I cooked it in the slow cooker last night! It was fabulous. Didn’t add any water at all. Just the dried stock.

  20. Yummo! Just finished dinner and it was a real winner! Tasted very authentic, great flavors. Tonight we had the chilli con carne in tacos and they were definitely the best I’ve had!!! I have a Tefal Cuisine Companion and the only adjustment I made was to replace the UltraBlade with the stirring tool after I’d chopped the onions and garlic. Lots left over, maybe we’ll have it on a baked potato tomorrow night! Thanks Nik!!!

  21. Absolutely DELICIOUS! Made it LCHF by omitting the kidney beans & using pork which was perfect in every way. Thanks!
