My Mum and Dad would make this dish when I was growing up any time someone in the Virginia farming community would give them a cabbage – it’s absolutely amazing how adding a bit of olive oil and bacon can transform cabbage into something that all of us kids would wolf down. The addition of stock concentrate makes it otherworldly.
