Szechuan peppercorns, Sichuan peppercorn, Sichuan pepper or even Chinese coriander, is a spice commonly found in Chinese cuisine.
It is not hot like black, white or chili peppers. Instead it has slight lemony overtones and creates a tingly numbing sensation. If you cannot find this spice for the Sticky Szechuan Pork Belly and Asian broth, you can omit. However it obviously won’t be Szechuan Pork Belly.
You can easily find Szechuan Peppercorns at your local Asian or Indian Supermarket or you can order online from Grandma’s Pantry.
