The Healthy Mix Dinners Jambalaya

Sharing is caring!

Skinnymixer’s Jambalaya features in the All in One section of the cookbook The Healthy Mix Dinners.

Being released on Friday the 31st of March at 8pm SA time, hopefully this book helps takes a little bit of stress out of dinner time and help answer the question “What’s for dinner?” 🥰

Jambalaya is deeply flavourful, which is no surprise as it is a popular Creole and Cajun cuisine influenced by African, Spanish and French cuisines. It is a humble dish, made up of rice, vegetables and sausage – the best part is that it can be on the table in just over 30 minutes!

If you don’t eat Chorizo you can use any smoked sausage or have a look at the vegetarian variation to help boost the smoky flavour.

This is another great recipe to use the Thermomix Cutter to cut down on prep time when it comes to cutting the capsicums.

In The Healthy Mix Dinners Cookbook we have continued with the Thermomix and the regular cooking conventional methods, so you don’t need a Thermomix to cook these recipes but it is definitely an advantage to have a Thermomix as a Sous chef in the kitchen.

This healthy dinner recipe has variations to suit the following dietary needs:

  • Low Carb/Paleo – we teach you how to switch the rice to cauliflower rice.
  • Super Skinny – tips on reducing calories
  • Vegetarian – how to replace the meats in the recipe but still retain protein and flavour.
  • Low Fodmap – This one was pretty tricky as traditionally a Jambalaya is super high in FODMAPs. Hopefully it helps satisfy your Jambalaya cravings!

This recipe is Freezer Friendly – we aren’t the biggest fans of frozen prawns, so for best results pan fry those fresh! Or it is simply a personal preference.
