This Family Lasagna is easy to make, not too heavy and truly delicious. The best part is…you won’t notice the extra vegetables!

I love to add mushrooms into my meat sauce for the extra umami flavour and added vitamins.

The bechamel has zucchini added to keep this dish lighter, however you can still use my Healthy Carbonara Sauce from The Healthy Mix if you like!

Lasagna

  • mozzarella cheese
  • 250 g dried or fresh lasagna sheets - gluten-free if required

Meat sauce

  • Swiss brown mushrooms - quartered (or increase meat)
  • 250 g beef mince
  • 250 g pork mince
  • garlic
  • shortcut bacon
  • carrot
  • celery
  • red wine - optional
  • passata
  • tomato paste
  • Stock Concentrate
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • dried bay leaf
  • onion powder

Bechamel

  • milk of choice
  • zucchin
  • butter
  • plain flour
  • egg
  • ground nutmeg
