This all-in-one sausage Thermomix recipe is fantastic for a quick, family pleasing meal and you can easily reduce or increase the amount to suit as well. Feel free to experiment with using white rice instead of potato, other types of meat and vegetables too.

I have been so busy lately with moving house and making sure that the kids are well settled, that I have only just been able to actually cook something in my kitchen ! In fact, we’ve been so flat out moving that I am actually blogging this at 39,003 feet in the air – on our way to a top secret location. All will be revealed on the 5th of September.

I hope you enjoy it.

Love Nik xx

  1. A very easy meal! I love that you can mix it up with whatever other veggies you fancy or slice up your potato the way you like it! Oh, and having 20 mins to bath the child while it cooks is handy too! Nice job Nik!

  2. I made this and the sauce was very red. Obviously from the tomato which is a bit strange because I followed the recipe. My toddler wasn’t impressed with orange potatoes 😂

  3. Made this tonight. Such a simple dish. Makes a regular appearance in our house and always very tasty, especially the leftovers 😊

  4. I used a spicy sausage and added I whole chilli when chopping the onion and garlic and the a tsp of smoked paprika when adding the stock etc. Yummo!

  6. Just wondering what everyone else did with leftover gravy- I have heaps leftover, wondering if it can be frozen, or used in any other recipes?

  7. Another quick, simple, tasty family dinner. I used 1/3 potato & 2/3 Cauliflower for the mash and steamed carrots & beans in top steaming tray instead of frozen peas & corn. Versatile recipe with being able to use whichever vegetables you choose.

  8. Do the sausages get steamed in this recipe? I generally cook sausages in the pan on the stove & then add into a recipe as no one in my family like really soft sausages, they prefer a harder more cooked sausage. I just wonder how these sausages turn out if anyone could let me know. Thanks so much for a fab site & big congrats on your recent win Nik 🏆. I’m debating about jumping & buying your cookbooks…..I do need help with my cooking ability 😉

    1. Hi chaz,
The sausages are steamed which is different to grilling them and it does take a little bit to get over the colour) of a steamed sausage but they are juicy and flavoursome. .(i grew up on bbq or grilled sausages)
      Give it a go!

  9. This was such a yummy filling meal. My family of 3 got 3 maun meals and two lunches. This will become a regular meal in our house from now on.

  10. I love an all-in-one dish. This was delicious and plenty left over for the next day for lunches. The gravy was so full of flavour.
Will definitely be a regular in our house 😋👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks Nik xx

  11. Anyone made this dairy free? I’m thinking I’ll just use stock for the mash potato, hope it doesn’t ruin the flavour!

  12. One of the easiest and most delicious meals I have made.
This will definately be a staple in our household.
    5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
    Thanks Nik 😉😁

  13. Easy and tasty.
I’m nightshade free so used tamarind paste and a smidge of coconut aminos in place of the tomato paste.
I had run out of onions so used onion powder. It worked but I can imagine caramelized onions would be much yummier!
I cooked pumpkin into the sauce to help thicken it instead of flour.
Broccoli and cauli in the varoma, pumpkin in the basket.
Can’t wait to try it again with REAL life onions!!

  14. Love the easy app-website link!!!
This recipe is super easy too😜 Had no red onions and then missed sauté-ing onions and garlic😩😩😩 Added chicken breast strips as only had 4 sausages… Looking forward to doing it properly soon! Thanks Nikalene 😍Happy travels👋

  15. Super easy and yummy. My 7 year old said ‘I would give Roald Dahl 10 out of 10 and Nikalene 10 out of 10’. I used frozen chopped onions for extra easy laziness.
