Thermomix BBQ Marinade Recipe

Sharing is caring!

This all purpose BBQ Marinade was actually reserved for the new book, ‘The Healthy Mix II’. I decided that all the Skinnymixers Mums deserved a break from cooking for Mother’s Day and to release the recipe early! This Thermomix marinade will work on so many different proteins such as pork, beef, chicken or even lamb. Please note, we recommend this recipe is cooked on the BBQ or grilled for the best flavour.

Ingredients

  • 200 g passata
  • 100 g tomato paste
  • 20 g lemon juice
  • 10 g Worcestershire sauce - or Tamari / Coconut Aminos
  • 5 g paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp xylitol, sugar or preferred sweetener
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp instant coffee granules or cacao powder

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to mixer bowl, blend for 30 sec/speed 6/MC on. Scrape bowl down.
  • Cook for 5 min/steaming temp/speed 1/MC off. Put the simmering basket over the mixer lid to prevent kitchen mess.
  • Allow to cool completely before marinating 1-1.5 kg or 3.3 pounds BBQ meat of choice overnight or a minimum of 8 hours for the best results. I used pork rashers but it would work well with chicken or beef too.

  1. I made this and portioned into 4 serves with Pork rashers in snap lock bags. Left to marinate for 24 hours then froze. Took the first pack out of the freezer this morning for dinner. Cooked in the air fryer at 190 deg C for 12 minutes and it was amazing!! Served with coleslaw for a quick easy midweek dinner

  2. Delicious! Made more than expected, will def freeze some next time 🙂 had it on steak with chips, fried eggs and a garden salad. Thanks Nik!

  3. Yum! Used this on chicken wing bits. So yum, everyone loved it. This will become a regular for when we want anything marinaded.

  4. Thank u Nik will make this for May 20th when I entertain I am going to slow cook pork shoulder and use your marinade on it and marinate overnight first ..
