Yiros is an extremely popular Greek street food here in South Australia. You may know them as Gyrosโ€”a Greek flatbread or Pita with delicious meat, salad and Tzatziki sauce similar to a Doner Kebab.

Each time I visit the butchers Iโ€™m so tempted to buy one of the convenient trays of pre-marinated yiros meat for a quick meal but then remember that itโ€™s likely full of sugar.

By mixing together a few pantry staples and marinating your own meat, you have a meal thatโ€™s just as convenient and will taste better. Weโ€™ve included the Yiros Rub in the Basics section to prep ahead and make it even faster to get dinner on the table.

    Simply delicious. I found this recipe by accident flicking though wondering what to make for dinner. This made so much, Iโ€™ve got leftovers for days! I used chicken and the spice mix as per the recipe. I will certainly make again.

    I love a good yiros but the take always are $20 a wrap! Crazy I know! So I was super excited when I found out Dinners 2 had a homemade yiros meat rub and meat recipe to try. Let me tell you, it certainly did satisfy my craving for a big fat wrap with meat, salad and tzatziki (my usual go to order!)โ€ฆ the recipe makes a huge amount so plenty for 7 people AND leftovers for lunch the next day.
