Middle Eastern Marinade

The Middle Eastern Lamb Marinade would have to be one of the most flavour packed recipes I have ever developed; my Dad, the kids and I managed to devour over 1 kg of charcoal barbequed lamb in one sitting. I don’t recommend that you do this if you are on a weight loss journey. This marinade is quickly made in the Thermomix and is delicious on Lamb, Chicken and Beef.

I like to serve it on a bed of my Jeweled Coconut Rice.

Dinner tonight was chosen by my mama – Middle Eastern Lamb Cutlets reverse seared on my @traegergrills Ranger. Served with home made pita breads, coconut jewelled rice & palak raita. So delicious 🤤 cheers to @thesmokingjoint for the lamb lesson 👌🏻🤘🏻 @traegergrillsoz #unsponsored #bbq #smoking #grilling #thermomix #thermomixaus #skinnymixer #skinnymixers #fusion

  1. is there anyway i can buy just this recipe without having to buy the entire book ? reviews look like ravers and i really wanted to give them a go

  2. This was fantastic! I love the idea of cooking a leg of lamb in this marinade and will try that next time ! Thanks,

  3. We LOVE this recipe! I use forequarter chops and have done it in the oven on a rack a few times and on the BBQ with the hood down. So good with couscous with feta and olives and a crisp green salad. Yummo!

  4. I put this marinade on a leg of lamb and I slowed cooked this for 8 hours. Tasted amazing! If you don’t have this book (the healthy mix),, buy it now. It’s worth it for this recipe alone!

  5. My absolute favourite recipe at the moment! I’m not eating dairy currently, so just omit the yoghurt. It is so easy. If I’m feeling lazy I just mix up the marinade in a bowl so I don’t need to wash the thermi. I’m not a huge red meat eater but keep buying more lamb so I can continue to prepare these little beauties! If you’re on P2 get the frenched lamb cutlets and leave out the yoghurt for an indulgent treat. Yum!

  6. OMG what a flavour punch!!!! I was eating it out of the bowl….luckily there was enough to put on our loin lamb chops….next time I am going to do it with pork, chicken and lamb and have a full on middle eastern meat feast!

  7. Another winner!!!! Absolutely delish served with silky sweet potato mash. Love your work Nik 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  8. This is absolutely delicious! I used a pork shoulder, and marinated it overnight. I slow cooked the meat for about 4hrs before putting it into the oven, then made gravy with the juices from the marinade left in the slow cooker. Absolutely phenomenal!!

  9. Wow these were yum i think i will try a different meat next time just because i find getting meat from lamb really tedious and i honestly just wanted to inhale this marinade!! Finished it with the coconut jeweled rice (first time Ive had that yum!!!) Will do a salad next time I think. Definatley on a go to list so easy if you remember to prepare the night before my 9 month old was a big fan to.

  10. Well, isn’t that a taste sensation! I made these tonight with forequarter chops instead, and all I can say is I wish there were leftovers! Will feature many times in this house.
    Thanks again Nik x

  11. Hey Nik! Thanks for this recipe. We had the cutlets last Sunday night. Unexpected visitors, so we had to share. Everyone loved them. Next, bbq chops on Australia Day. Another win! Chicken breasts marinating now for tomorrow night. LOVELY flavours.

  12. Delicious! We cooked the marinated cutlets on the BBQ. This marinade will be a regular feature in our house. Thanks for a fantastic recipe.

  13. Amaze balls! It’s so good we have had it twice in the last week – first time using cutlets which were charcoal grilled then because it was so good I marinated a whole leg of lamb in it for Australia Day nom nom.

  14. So delish, I’ve done these twice this week using chops to reduce the cost a bit, they didn’t last long! These’ll be a regular bbq item now, and so easy

  15. What can I say . Another awesome recipe from Nikalene . I can’t believe how every single recipe from the books that I have made has been so yummy . The lamb cutlets were to die for . So good . Thank you so much and I look forward to buying any cookbooks you release in the future .
