It’s an amazing father, husband, brother, coach, no relax it’s that BBQ guy... Grant Neal.
Blessed with a head of hair that belies his long years and his cooking experiences are as unique as they are varied. More blessed to have travelled extensively across Asia and America and garnered a wealth of cooking experience from some of the best and brightest in the barbecue and restaurant business. This lead to a successful competitive barbecue career both here in Australia and the USA. Notably a perfect score for Lamb in the prestigious Memphis in May and a BBQ Dessert World Champion win at The Jack - both events the pinnacle of competitive bbq. With multiple Grand Championship wins it’s easy to see why his masterclasses are sought out and well attended. Most recently focusing on barbecuing for charity, with fundraising for the recent devastating bushfires his main focus.
Grant's passion for cooking comes from the purest source, his mum. Watching her feed a family of seven, exciting and sometimes quite exotic meals for the period, on a limited budget was the foundation for his ability to make it work. Creativity is king. Driven to match what he has gleamed from his mum, along with some of the best cooks and Chefs in the world, he routinely experiments on his partner of 26 years (Kylie) and their three children (Archie, Gracie and Henry). The secret is she doesn’t mind cleaning up every pot after every cook (or so she says...). Food is also the passion of his children who routinely offer unsolicited advice to any one who ventures into their kitchen.
Grant aka Hollywood thrives on creating dishes and relaying what he knows about bbq and cooking to anyone with interest.
