This recipe is 10/10 FANTASTIC. I am so appreciative to Lailah Rose for allowing me to blog it.

Indian curry feast with Thermomix Naan
It really is the best Thermomix Naan recipe and goes perfectly with curries from ‘A Little Taste of India’ Cookbook

The Skinnymixers Facebook Community has been loving this Thermomix Naan recipe for years now.

Here are some of the best tips or hacks for the perfect Naan.

  • If you need Gluten Free Naan – use GF Laucke Bread flour as a straight swap.
  • Make sure your rolling surface and hands are covered in flour, this helps if your dough is a little too sticky.
  • Feel free to change the fillings – if you don’t like spinach… no problem!
  • Nigella Seeds can be difficult to come by. Grandma’s Pantry Online stocks them and your local Indian Supermarket or The Source Bulk Foods should also have them.

  • 2 tsp instant dried yeast
  • 500 g bakers flour
  • 20 g oil of choice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300 g water
  • large handful of baby spinach - roughly chopped

  • Add yeast, bakers flour, oil, salt and water in that order to mixer bowl. Combine for 15 sec/speed 3/MC on. Then 6 min/knead/MC on. Dont leave your thermy alone during this step.

Skinnymixers Guest Recipe: Lailah's Garlic, Cheese & Spinach Naan

  1. 5 stars
Absolutely loved this I’m unsure why I’ve waited this long to try it ? I’ve made many naan recipes but this was by far the best and easiest . Hubby even said it tasted like the one we get from the Indian shop so it’s a win all round ! Made the full recipe but froze some balls for later

  2. 2 stars
The dough was just far too sticky to work with. I ended up using the same amount of flour again to knead into the dough on the bench to even get it to be workable.

I will try doubling the flour at the beginning next time!

  3. 5 stars
Fantastic recipe…much quicker and easier than I first imagined. Made a variety of filling combos (and even made some plain ones) and they were a huge hit.

  4. Amazing recipe. The naan was a big hit with all the family! Love the garlic in the dough. Thank you for sharing 🤗

    1. I freeze the finished naan. Keeps really well. After frying and buttering, I put them on a sheet of foil on the bench to cool, then wrap 2 at a time in the foil. Stack in freezer, defrost when you want and pop into oven, all still in the foil.

  5. 5 stars
This was delicious and super easy to make! A new favourite. Tried adding some shaved ham but prefer the spinach and cheese.

  6. 5 stars
I mixed the dough then left it for a few hours. Once punched down, filled and cooked, I couldn’t eat them quickly enough. I was trying to save some for our Souvlakis tonight but think I have to make another batch. Thank you for a brilliant recipe, it’s a definite keeper.

  7. 5 stars
Made half batch as didn’t have enough flour for a full. Had to add maybe 20g more flour and turned out perfectly fluffy and delicious. My only regret was not having enough flour to make a full batch.

These are the sole reason my son (11) eats curry….
At first glance, the recipe seems fiddly to make, but they’re actually quite simple. It does make a large serve for a family of 5. I haven’t tried making a half quantity or freezing dough, but I might in the future.

  9. Delicious! Made dough exactly to recipe but turned them in to pizza pockets. Shallow fried in frypan. Quick, easy, really tasty. Great warm but I could imagine eating them cold if there were left overs. Use any ingredients in middle: meat, vegetarian, vegan. First time I have ever left a comment on a recipe. Thankyou. A new family favourite.

  10. This was so yummy! I had no problemwith the dough , it was perfect! I had it with the quick lamb curry from THM.

  11. Extremely tasty. The dough is a little sticky, but just flour the surface, rolling pin and hands and it’s all good.
I kept mine warm in a thermoserve whilst making a raita.
I only made up half, so trialing freezing the left over dough.

    1. How’d the freezing go? It makes a lot for the 4 of us, thinking I’d try freezing half of the uncooked dough next time.

  12. So easy, and so delicious, I’ve made garlic and cheese and spinach garlic and cheese the kids love them. It takes only minutes and is a definite new favourite. Thank you

  13. These were so easy to make & so delicious. If you are weight conscious I wouldn’t butter them as they were so nice without it. My family were amazed at how clever I was getting the spinach & cheese inside the naan. They loved them.
I served them with a Chicken Thai green curry.
I made them a few hours ahead of time & layered them with baking paper. Easy then to tip each one into the frypan. These will be made again & again I’m certain of that.
The photos with the recipe really helped. Thank you so much for this amazing recipe.

  14. These were fabulous! My son is dairy intolerant so i made plain naan and sprinkled garlic salt while I lightly pan fried them. Sooooooo good. Thank you for the quick, versatile and awesome recipe

  15. I tried to make it tonight. Followed each step but the dough turned out very very sticky. Couldn’t form into any balls at all. I don’t know what happened

    1. Exactly same happened to me. I even redid it as I thought I must have done something wrong! Have no idea what’s going on? Used white bread flour- is that the issue and should have gone for plain? Also dough is strangely warm?

      1. I had all the same issues just used flour coating over my hand and transferred to oiled bowl to sit for 15 mins. I then transferred to super floured thermo mat & they were fine to manoeuvre. Try this method & see if it helps mine worked out perfect
