Skinnymixer’s Crispy Pork Belly Salad in the cookbook SkinnyAsia is definitely a show stopper. Melt in the mouth tender pork, crispy crackle and a tangy salad bursting with flavour.

SkinnyAsia is available from Friday 22nd of September at 8pm SA time.

This twice cooked Crispy Pork Belly Salad from SkinnyAsia is a truly restaurant quality meal that you can cook at home in the Thermomix or BBQ.

Steaming the pork belly in the Thermomix is the secret to getting an incredible crackle on the pork belly. This recipe features in the Chef’s Special section of the cookbook. It may take a little time to cook low and slow but it is worth it.

Make sure you don’t skip the fresh herbs in the salad!

How to cook the perfect Crispy Pork Belly

For Best Results Steaming the Pork Belly

  • Place as flat as you can in the top flat steaming tray for your thermo cooker.
  • Try to get an even flat piece of pork belly – this will help when it is time to make the crackle
  • If your pork belly isn’t flat and some parts crackle quickly, you can add foil to help stop it burning in the high points.
