Italian Meatballs

Sharing is caring!

While these are not a patch on the traditional Italian meatballs made by Nonna’s all over the world, they are almost as delicious and much healthier for you too! You can serve these with zucchini noodles to be gluten-free, pasta or even a simple side salad. In winter you can serve them atop my silky sweet potato mash for a warming meal.

  1. What a great recipe! Delicious as is, but there is so much room for variation. I made the LCHF version by adding cream to the sauce and stuffing the meatballs with cheese. I also used Cajun seasoning (I had it in the cupboard) instead of Italian seasoning it was beyond delicious.
I served ours with zoodles and everyone loved it. 10/10 would make again.

  2. I wasn’t 100% as sold on these as all the other SM recipes after my first try of them. But I thought I’d give them another try. I’d run out of Italian spice mix so used the Mexican instead and they were Amazing! So tasty! I did also cheat and add 1/3 of a cup of bread crumbs (not very skinny I know) but this did give them the texture I’m used to in meatballs and they were so yummy!

  3. Just made these as the LCHF version and wow. Amazing . I didnt find the taste changed much with the LCHF. Served with sweet potato mash for me and the hubby and kidlets have Dinosaur pasta. Loving skinnymixers meals.

  4. Absolutely love these meatballs- great family dinner, quick, easy, tasty and very ecominical – will be a regular in this house!

  5. I made these meatballs tonight and was very happy! I added extra garlic though as the hubby is away and he hates garlic, but I love it! I had to duck off to the Drs, so started the meatballs off, left the MC on, then when I came back they were ready to be popped into the thermoserver which I had boiling water sitting in to keep food extra hot. I cooked my GF pasta in the thermie next and also had my daughters meatballs cooking in her Nomato Sauce on the stove in a little saucepan. So in the end we had a fabulously rich spaghetti and meatballs meal that everyone could eat. Perfect! (If the hubby was here, that ‘everyone could eat’ wouldn’t be possible, so I’m enjoying making your yummy dishes while I can!)

  6. Absolutely amazing ! These have be come a stapled in our family & even my mum who is fussy as hell asked me to make her some up !!!! Even my nearly 2 year old loves these !! “Meatball mummy yum ” thanks so much Nik!!! Life saver & renewed my desire to use my thermomix again

  7. A delicious meal that is absolutely jam packed with flavour. Enjoyed by the whole family. This will definitely be a regular meal in our household.

  8. Gorgeous! Flavour Flavour Flavour and all in an instant. These were a big hit in our household, even with fussy toddler. Great work on the whole recipe book Nik

  9. As usual another Skinnymixers recipe that was a huge hit in our house. So much flavour and super easy to make. Thank you once again 😊

  10. These are amazing. So full of flavour! Whole family loved them including my mother-in-law and 16yo who eats just about nothing. Will definitely be a regular in our house. Thanks heaps Nik 😍
