Although a traditional Paella cannot be achieved in the Thermomix, this Spanish Rice recipe from A Little Taste of Spain comes pretty close in terms of flavour and is easy enough to cook on a weeknight.

You can serve this Spanish Rice by itself or with some of the delicious recipes from the cookbook, to make a delicious Spanish Tapas feast.

Paella is one of the most famous Spanish foods, however many people don’t know that the word “Paella” actually refers to the pan in which the rice is cooked. This is a traditional Paella recipe, cooked in the thermal cooker for a quicker, healthier version that is just as delicious and a dish you are sure to cook often.

  • chorizo sausage - cured not raw
  • olive oil
  • Bomba rice
  • dry white wine
  • tomato paste
  • chicken stock concentrate
  • smoked paprika
  • turmeric powder
  • saffron threads - optional
  • chicken thigh
  • red capsicum
  • frozen peas
  • fresh lemon juice
  • parsley

  1. Another amazing recipe developed by Nik. It sure take me to Spain. Had authentic Spanish paella’s before and being able to do it on my Thermomix and still have all the flavours but with the practical cooker is simply amazing. Thank you!!!

  4. This was a huge hit in my house a flavoursome dish that looks great. I coupled it with the Chorizo and Potato Stew. YUM. Easily fed five adults.

  5. This dish is amazing , so full of flavour and so easy to make . The lemon juice at the end is a must, it just lifts the dish to a different level. I added prawns to mine yum 😋 . Thanks Nik for your never fail gorgeous recipes, you spoil us all.

  8. An amazing dish packed full of flavour and hardly any arbs when using the cauliflower instead of rice. Another winner in the eyes of Master 5 and Miss 7 which means a definite winner for this mum! Thanks again Nik and Team for creating and delivering the goods!

  9. Another winner. Quick easy and eaten by everyone, including my super fussy 8 year old. I was hoping for leftovers but the husband “just had to finish it”.

  10. Absolutely delicious! So quick and easy and loved by everyone! I left out the chicken, as I was serving it with the paprika chicken, so didn’t use the varoma tray (just chucked everything in the basket and gave it a stir once or twice). Makes heaps so plenty left over for lunches…Perfection!

  18. This was a huge hit at our house except for the rice hating 5 year old who only ate the peas, chicken and chorizo, but i didn’t expect any differnet from him. It will be a regular on our menu along with many of the other ALTOS recipes.
