With SkinnyAsia being released this Friday, we thought it was the right time to release our Healthy Hoisin Sauce Thermomix recipe so our Paleo and Low Carb Skinnymixers can get prepared too!

This Healthy Hoisin Sauce can be used in all the recipes in SkinnyAsia that use Hoisin Sauce. Hopefully it helps unlock a little more of the delicious world of Asian cooking for you and you don’t need to worry about what is in the sauces! 

We also have a Roasted Seed Butter (savoury version) that you can use for this recipe.

  • ¼ cup soy sauce, tamari or coconut aminos
  • 2 Tbsp roasted seed butter, tahini, almond butter or peanut butter (no added salt)
  • 4 Tbsp brown sugar, coconut sugar or compliant low carb granular sweetener
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic infused olive oil or 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • ½ tsp Chinese Five Spice
  • ¼ tsp xanthan gum


  • Add all ingredients to mixer bowl and mix 10 sec/speed 7/MC on. Scrape mixer bowl down and repeat if required.
  • Cook for 10 min/100°C/Speed 1/MC on or until reduced and starting to thicken.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
