My Journey

Welcome! This page will be used to share my daily experiences with my third proper round of the HCG Protocol. I do Cyndi Omera’s Changing Habits ‘Four Phase Fat Elimination Protocol’, you can read more via changinghabits.skinnymixers.com

I decided to do the protocol after struggling with my weight for years. Despite being a very healthy eater (paleo), I had lost very little weight. A friend (thanks Jos) introduced my husband and I to the protocol, and we havent looked back. I have now lost a total of 34 kg, but I still have a ways to go in my journey.

Loading

Like always, I didnt load as good as I could have. Every day I had a Paleo Breakfast Smoothie, and I ate out for lunch and dinner both days. I also managed to sneak in a few slices of my Health by Chocolate Torte for good measure 😉

I gained 1.8kg.

Phase 2

Day 11

Breakfast: 1 apple

Lunch: Slow cooked greek lamb and 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: skinnymixers compliant curried eggs, 1 cup of cucumber

Snacks: 1 x apple, 1 x vanillaberry juice

Drinks: 2 L water, a green tea

Mood: No hunger again today. Feeling pretty fantastic, except I have a headache (to be expected, i had to stop my preventative medication ahead of my surgery). Over the moon about being at my lowest weight yet, but the flip side of that is that I am really disappointed that I cant continue P2 because of my surgery 🙁 I am so head strong this round and I know I could easily go 40 days. Transitioning to P3 either tomorrow or the next day.

Weight: 500 g loss , 5.1 kg total

Day 10

Breakfast: 1 apple

Lunch: Slow cooked greek lamb and 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: Chilli lime chicken and broccoli

Snacks: 1 x apple, 1 x vanillaberry juice

Drinks: 1.5 L water, a macchiato and a short black

Mood: Woke up a bit peckish, an apple solved that. Went out to coffee with a friend at a bakery… little did I know that this is an amazing bakery where they have a huge commercial kitchen on site and hand make three thousand croissants daily…. why !!!!! 🙂 Very happy with my loss today. My clothes are feeling loose.

Weight: 800 g loss , 4.6 kg total

Day 9

Breakfast: 1 apple

Lunch: Slow cooked greek lamb and 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: Slow cooked greek lamb and 1 cup of cucumber

Snacks: 1 cup of fresh blueberries

Drinks: 2.5 L water, A cup of oasis green tea by brackendale tea

Mood: I sneezed while taking my drops this morning. No hunger. I stayed the same weight today, I think its because I didnt eat enough food yesterday or the fact that I introduced lamb for the first time. Will see how I do tomorrow and assess 🙂

Weight: STS loss , 3.8 kg total

Day 8

Breakfast: 1 apple

Lunch: stirfried chicken breast and 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: Slow cooked greek lamb and greek broccoli salad

Snacks: 1 cup of fresh blueberries

Drinks: 2.5 L water, A cup of vanilla chai tea by Brackendale Tea

Mood: No hunger again today, but the smell of the lamb slow cooking has been amazing! Dinner was mind blowing. The thing that I love the MOST about HCG Protocol is how it shows you that simple foods really do taste better. At times in my life I have become distracted by creating overly complicated dishes… yet my Husband tonight remarked “This was the best meal I have had this year”. For him to say that, that is a big deal… I know we are only 2 months in, but I cook every single night for him and it is almost always spectacular lol

Weight: 500 g loss , 3.8 kg total

Day 7

Breakfast: 1 apple

Lunch: 100 g albacore tuna from Costco and 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: topside steak, garlic broccoli salad and whole grain mustard

Snacks: 1 apple, 1 cup of fresh blueberries

Drinks: 2 L water

Mood: No hunger again today. Stalled because I tested cauliflower yesterday. I think its official, I probably wont ever tolerate cauliflower! Mum made my raw lamington truffles and i had a tiny mouthful of one before I realised what I was doing, and gave the rest back. Shouldnt impact as it was a nibble at best. Yay for self control!

Weight: STS, 3.3 kg total

Day 6

Breakfast: 1 pear (oops, dont eat pear, its not compliant!)

Lunch: skinnymixers compliant curried eggs, 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: chicken breast stir fried with cauliflower, ginger, chilli and garlic.

Snacks: 1 apple

Drinks: 2 L water

Mood: No hunger today, in fact I would have happily skipped breakfast, snacks and lunch. I really enjoyed our lunch, its a fantastic recipe. My clothes are baggy on me. Low loss today, because of my non-compliant chicken yesterday. C’est la vie.

Weight: loss of 200 g, 3.3 kg total

Day 5

Breakfast: 1 cup of blueberries

Lunch: yiros chicken and POP salad

Dinner: beef rump steak, cucumber and peppercorn jus

Snacks: 1/2 a red grapefruit

Drinks: 1 L water

Mood: No real hunger today, but it was a difficult day. Hubby had an appointment at the hospital, so I had to pick him up from the city and drive him there. I didnt have time to pack lunch and I got stuck out with no food 🙁 I found a good BBQ restaurant and ordered a take away chicken yiros meat and POP salad. The kids had the chips and pita bread. The meat was definitely not POP, as it was chicken thigh – but given my other options I made the best choice.

My plan for this round is to do another 10 days then move on to P3-4 in time for my surgery on the 20th. This plan has been made in consultation with Anna, the HCG guru 🙂

Weight: loss of 500 g, 3.1 kg total

Day 4

Breakfast: 1 x red apple

Lunch: Roast Chicken and 1 cup of steamed broccoli

Dinner: beef rump steak, cabbage salad and wholegrain seeded mustard

Snacks: 2 x cup of blueberries

Drinks: 1 x black tea, 1 x ginger and lemon tea, 2 L water

Mood: Today has been good, Hubby and I ate out for lunch and I am hoping the lady was telling the truth about the ingredients! I found out that I have surgery booked in for the 20th of this month, so this will be another short round of only 19 days… very disappointed! 🙁

Weight: loss of 600 g2.6 kg total

Day 3

Breakfast: 1 x red apple

Lunch: skinnymixers mexican shredded chicken and 1 cup of cucumber

Dinner: beef rump steak, cabbage salad and wholegrain seeded mustard

Snacks: 1 x red apples, 1 cup of blueberries

Drinks: 2 x brackendale earl gray tea, 2 L water

Mood: I was a bit disappointed when I discovered the roast beef had been left out, wasting 8 serves of food 🙁 I have noticed that my weight loss over the past two days has been much less than normal, I contribute this to using non Changing Habits branded drops as my drops hadn’t arrived yet. I switched to Changing Habits drops this morning and my hunger is better, I could eat but I am not starving.

Weight: loss of 600 g2 kg total

Day 2

Breakfast: skinnymixers vanillaberry juice

Lunch: skinnymixers mexican shredded chicken and 1 cup of cucumber, with a squeeze of lemon juice

Dinner: skinnymixers herbed roast beef with peppercorn jus, with 1 cup broccoli

Snacks: 2 x red apples

Drinks: 2 x yerba mate, 2L water

Mood: Bit hungry, but not overwhelmingly. Struggled to grill the kids sausages for lunch… and then my mum brought around freshly baked vegetmite scrolls for them 😐

Weight: loss of 1.4 kg

Day 1

Breakfast: 1 x red apple

Lunch: 100 g grilled chicken breast seasoned with salt and pepper, 1 cup of cucumber, mixed lettuce, 3 baby tomatoes and apple cider vinegar

Dinner: 100 g grilled chicken breast seasoned with salt and pepper, 1 cup of steamed broccoli (17 min/steaming temperature/speed 2), mixed lettuce and my roasted chilli sauce.

Snacks: 1 cup of blueberries and a serve of my blueberry sorbet.

Drinks: I could have drunk a lot more water today. I only ended up drinking around 500 mls 🙁 1 x black coffee

Mood: Starting to feel a bit hungry tonight, not painfully… just a bit peckish.

Weight: Up 1.8 kg from the start of loading
