Thank you to Fallon De Smet for taking the time to provide low fodmap friendly tips for the latest book ‘The Healthy Mix II’. Hopefully the below feedback can help Skinnymixers who need some assistance in converting the recipes to be low fodmap friendly.
- Smashed Avocado – you will need to watch serving size of avocado, normal feta
- Bruschetta Mix – is quite difficult without the onion and garlic, but if you can have garlic infused oil it would still be lovely.
- Low Carb Burger Buns – depends how you are with almonds, but not low fodmap friendly.
- Breakfast sausage patties – leave out onion and garlic, maybe add some other herbs.
- Moroccan Quinoa Salad – leave out garlic, and onion, use a safe stock.
- Prawn Cocktail Salad – leave out garlic and onion, maybe add something else to salad.
- Bacon & Broccoli Fritters with Ranch Sauce – leave out onion and garlic.
- Chicken Cauliflower Fried Rice – change to broccoli.
- Creamy Pesto Sauce – leave out garlic.
- Pea & Ham Soup – leave out garlic and onion, depends how you are with peas, use a safe stock.
- Chimichurri Salmon – leave out garlic.
- Grain Free Chicken Parmies – leave out onion.
- Chicken Cacciatore – leave out onion and garlic, change mushrooms.
- Roast Chicken Dinner with all the Trimmings – leave out garlic and onion, use green part leek or leave out, change to broccoli.
- Speedy Beef Stir Fry – leave out garlic and onion.
- Beef Stroganoff – leave out onion and garlic, change mushrooms.
- Family Chunky Bolognese with Hidden Vege – leave out onion and garlic.
- Lamb & Feta Meatballs – leave out garlic and onion, maybe add more herbs.
- Chorizo Meatballs with Homemade Chorizo – leave out garlic and onion
- Choc Cherry Slice – use frozen strawberries instead of cherries.
- Coconut Rough Smoothie – change xylitol to your preferred sweetener.
- Homemade Vanilla Chai – low fodmap friendly.
- Dirty Chai Gelato – change xylitol to your preferred sweetener.
- Coconut Pouring Custard – Change xylitol to your preferred low fodmap sweetener.
- Blueberry Almond Cakes – depends how you are with almonds, change xylitol to your preferred low fodmap sweetener.
- Apple Grumble – change cashews to oats, change xylitol to your preferred sweetener, change apples to strawberries & rhubarb.
